    Hi Westi,
    Thanks for your help.
Looks like WP isn't compatible with the default cPanel Suhosin install when building Apache. Disabled it, it saved and displayed fine. Enabled it, it didn't save anything in there.

I'm not convinced that it's a WP issue, as I can use copy the text of the post that is going blank and add to it in 292 and 3.0 without issue. If it were a WP issue, I'd be tempted to point to the (pre-3.0) shortcode bug that causes pages with lots of shortcodes in them to be blank in the editor. ( http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/8553 )

Edit - ahh, I see you've located the cause..

  3. @DeanStev: So you've tracked it down now to an issue with the Suhosin configuration probably.

I would hope that you can turn on logging for why Suhosin is triggering and understand what rule is being triggered and what might need reconfiguring.

From memory it can be configured with some quite strict limits on the size of things like POST requests and I guess you're triggering that kind of protection in it.

No publish button on New Posts page?

I was able to revive the publish interface by going back to a 2 column display on the Add / Write Post page in wp-admin ...

I'm in the same position ... No "save" or "publish" button, plus I can't change the screen options to see if 2 columns will work.

Reinstalled wp-admin and wp-includes, deactivated all plugins, repaired database, cleared cache (and browser cache), not running Suhosin, and still can't save, publish or change the screen options on the "Add New Post" page.

Any other suggestions? I appreciate the help!

I wrote "Hi" word in new post section and bold then I went to Visual to see what's it looks like. It shows me this code-

    <p><strong>Hi!</strong></p>

WP 3.0 supposed to show me Hi in visual ! But it see the codes!

I had similar problems in that the editor crashed on one site when I was using version 2.9.2. I thought it was a problem on the host server, and that still may be the case. All text vanished in the Visual editing screen, although it was visible in the HTML screen.

I had to begin all over again with a new site. WordPress 3.0 is running on the new site, and now the editor will not hold the "carriage return" so all paragraphs are running together. All looks fine when I end up with the blog entry. Even when I View Post all looks fine. But when I open up a fresh browser and examine the entry, the return key seems to be inactive so all paragraphs run together. I don't have a solution, although I am deactivating plugins to see if that may identify the problem.

When I try to add new posts in 3.0 I get a completely blank page. Quickpress is also no longer functional. I disabled all my plugins and still have the same problem.

Just wanted to add that I deleted my db.php file in wp-content and my posts are updating regularly although I don't think this is the best fix for this issue...that db.php file is in there for a reason.
Hopefully this comment might help someone determine the problem and a fix.

that db.php file is not part of WP, it is put there by a cache plugin. So deleting db.php would break any caching you had, but would fix posting issues caused by a cache plugin

@Rev. Voodoo ... you're absolutely right. I use w3 total cache plugin...uninstalled it and reinstalled it and the db.php file is back. Have not had any trouble posting since. Deactivating plugins alone did not help me. Note: I had this plugin installed and active at the time of updating to WP 3.0. Hope this helps

I am also having this issue. I upgraded to WP 3 and the add new post page is completely white. I deactivated all plugins and themes and still have the problem. I looked for the db.php file and I do not have one.....

I was having the problem after disabling all plugins, caching, and even permalinks. I ended up realizing it was a mod_security issue. I wrote a blog post talking about the WordPress post error with mod security and how to test for it. Hope that helps.

    willshouse,

I don't know if you realize it, but all the other posts in this thread are between four to six months old.
