How do I make the directory my front page?
I don’t want to use wordpress for anything else but a linkdirectory.
You make the settings for your front page in the admin panel under reading. Chooce your directory page as static page and save!
Don’t I need to change theme or anything?
To make a static front page have nothing to do with the theme!
I am really sorry for my inexperience here! It looks so great this directory but I have not worked a lot with wordpress before and maybe that would have been a good idea before going into this:-)
I may have tampered with stuff I should not have touched.
The only 4 options I have under Reading settings are:
“Blog pages show at most”
“Syndication feeds show the most recent”
“For each article in a feed, show”
“Encoding for pages and feeds”
I can not choose static page?
I forgot to say my version of wordpress is 2.9.2
you should have “Front page displays” as option too. I have checked in 2.9.2 and its an option there too.
