    Show Statistics is a highly configurable statistics viewer for WordPress 1.5. It reads the WordPress database and gets all kinds of information. You are free to enable or disable certain features in a seperate configuration file as you like. Due to the use of <DIV> tags and all seperate layout / stylesheet tags in the configuration you can alter the information as you like. You can place the information everywhere you like.

    You can find a preview here:
    http://www.mcmike.nl/english/?page_id=3
    http://www.mcmike.nl/?page_id=64 (Dutch site, more visitors)
    And download it here:
    http://www.mcmike.nl/WP-Stats.zip

    Let me know what you all think :)
    And PLEASE read the README.txt before installing !!!!!!!!!

    Awesome plugin...

    suggestion: in the most commented posts section it seems to pull posts that have been moved back to DRAFT... yet still have comments.... is there a way to turn them off from showing up if they are labeled DRAFT?

    Hmm I think in the most commented posts there is no "extra" line for what state posts are in ..... Good point

    If you download the latest version (Just altered it / changed it) you won't have this problem anymore :) It checks the state also :)

    For an update you can DOWNLOAD the plugin and ONLY extract the mc_show_stats.php file. This way your configuration wont get screwed :) :)

    Thnx for the item piginzen

    one more suggestion:

    >>Total posts in categories

    i have some catagories that are showing up here that only have DRAFTS in there... - again, should this be filtered too?

    Good point, never thought of the Drafts and private posts before...

    Reckon that ONLY drafts should be left out ? Or Privates as well???

    I will fiddle something up :)

    Just keep on testing the overhaul piginzen :) You never know what I missed out on :)

    maybe make privates a special section or something to put in the config file...

    reckon that would create some work... Something for V2
    For now I will kick-out the drafts :)

    http://www.mcmike.nl/WP-Stats.zip

    I created version 1.2 (*grin*) this version has more left out the drafts in total posts. (Comments are comments, that doesnt matter if a post is in draft !)

    Also I created a config-setting for the menu, so if you download the latest version you will need to add the following line to the .cfg file:

    /* Show menu-items in the beginning */
    $mc_show_menu = TRUE;

    TRUE will show a 6 line-menu for going directly to menu-items
    FALSE will NOT show this :)

    I need some help please. The page I created for my stats contains only this:

    <phpcode>
    mc_show_stats();
    </phpcode>

    The resulting page is showing this:

    mc_show_stats();

    I want to point out that:

    - I have RunPHP activated
    - My stats plugin is activated
    - I've integrated the css provided into my css

    Item 1
    The instructions say: Make sure all files are readable and writable for OTHERS.... What are the "OTHERS"? And are all files necessary to be writable? And are we talking chmod-ing the files to '664' or something else?

    Item 2
    If I interpreted the instructions correctly, the mc_show_stats.cfg should go in the plugins directory. Is that right?

    Any help on how I can get my stats to show is much appreciated. Here's the page: http://familywebwatch.com/blog_test/stats/

    The config file should indeed be in the plugins dir, but if phpcode shows this info that means the RunPHP script does not work correctly for some reason.

    What version of WP do you have ?

    The <phpcode> tag is showing in your page-source, so it is not parsed correctly / tackled by RunPHP...

    The Others are indeed the 664-chmod :) if you do an ls -al on the linux server it should show rw- at the end.

    What plugins do you have besides these 2 ? It might be that some other plugin stops the RunPHP code ?

    Hi mcmike. Thanks for getting back to me. ;)

    I'm running WP v1.5. Too many plugins to list here, but if you go to http://familywebwatch.com/blog_test/plugins-used/ you can see the list.

    The version of RunPHP I'm using is 1.2b4, which according to the author's site is the latest version. But you bring up a good point because I've had failed attempts with some other plugins that I thought were relying on RunPHP and thought it might be those other plugins I was trying to get to work.

    You said, "if you do an ls -al on the linux server it should show rw- at the end. I'm sorry, I need a little translation with that. ;) I think you're talking about permissions, but it's the "ls-al" and "rw- at the end" that get me.

    I can try to turn-off my plugins, but before I do that is there anything that I should try first?

    I really appreciate your help.

    To everybody -> There was a small mistake in my previous version There for the last Total posts didn't show up correctly if you did not start the tbales with wp_ sorry about that !

    @davincim:
    Basicly most important question is can you VIEW and / or EDIT the plugin in the plugin-editor ?? (Sorry didnt come up with that one earlier)

    The version of RunPHP provided with my plugin is 0.2.2 (older one) maybe you could try and use that version ??

    Yes, I can view the plugin in the plugin editor although it's not writable. Are you asking because you want me to make it writable?

    I'll continue anyway (without making it writable first) and use your version of RunPHP and see what happens (and post back).

    Thanks! :)

    It's working now. It must have been the version of RunPHP you provided that did the trick. Thanks for your help!

    Oh, now that it's working I noticed some mispellings you might want to change:

    General Statistics
    13 Total categories are created
    23 Posts where [<- change to 'were'] posted
    47 Comments where [<- change to 'were'] posted
    5 Links where [<- change to 'were'] added
    4 Different nicks posted a Comment

    Btw, what's a "nick"? Is that short of "nickname" and if so is that name provided in the "name" field of the comments form?

    thnx for the update I will fix that asap :)

    Hmm. Cpanel at my domain starts the database with nameofdomain_nameofdatabase

    so it would be drivein_wrdp4

    the only thing that changes is the number at the end.

    sub-domains have no affect, they just have a different number at the end for creation sequence of the database.

    Will your plug-in work with that ?

    Thanks.

    Thanks. I'll try it when I get the chance.

    No problem with the lateness. I run out of time myself.

    If you encounter any problems mail me@mcmike.nl

    :) The plugin should use the global var-prelude of the DB

    Otherwise I could create a custom made one for you :)
