[resolved] New plugin request approved - but no "get started" email (8 posts)

So my first plugin idea says it's been approved on 10/26/2011. However, I haven't received an email confirmation from WP folks about getting started. By "says it's been approved" I mean that the plugin page says "approved". See the link - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/byob-thesis-simple-header-widgets/

Am I right in expecting that email? Can I request another if that one got lost?

    Any suggestions?

  2. It's not approved, it's just you're the only one who can see it. Email plugins@wordpress.com if you need to, but it can take a couple weeks to get a new plugin approvd. Until you get the email it's not done.

I am also waiting for my plugin to be approved. My plugin will be called GuidePress.

The thing that worries me a little is that I didn't get any kind of auto-confim email saying that my submission has been logged and awaiting approval. I checked my spam folder but didn't find anything.

I guess I am just a little impatient.

  5. There isn't an auto-confirm.

They have to be manually reviewed and, y'know, it's the weekend. I see it in the queue (though I can't approve them myself) so it WILL be picked up :)

Thank you for your reply Ipstenu. That's fine, as long as it's in a queue somewhere then I'm happy.

One more query, I am trying to test my banner image using the instructions I found here.

I logged into wordpress.org and tried the following url to test my banner:

    wordpress.org/extend/plugins/guidepress/?banner_url=http://i.imgur.com/uXlle.png

However it doesn't seem to work. Is it because this will only work after the plugin gets approved?

  7. You can't upload anything until your site's approved, so ... you can't upload a banner till that happens. The banner will go into your assets folder.

My plugin has been approved and it's working after following your advice :o)

    Many thanks
