New Password e-mail not Recieved. (5 posts)

Hello! I'm fairly new to WordPress, and I'm starting my own blog and it's all very exciting. However, I have one big problem.

One day I tried to log in to my account and it decided that my password wasn't right. I only keep a handful of passwords so I thought this was crazy. To keep myself from getting too frustrated, I decided to go into the 'lost password?' option, and my site told me I should check my e-mail for my new password.

This started on Thursday and I must have asked it to change my password at least ten times and I have gotten no e-mail. I actually had to make a new account here in order to post this, because the password has reset and I have no idea what it is. I've checked my junk mail. It doesn't want to bother sending my password to another e-mail address. I don't know what's wrong.

What do I do? Is there any way to get through to my blog without shutting it down and starting all over?

Have a look at these instructions. Most likely your host doesn't have php mail setup, not a problem with the above script.

Thanks so much for the help!

But going by this logic, how will new users register? Can I get a php mail setup by myself, or somehow change the way new users register?

You might can try this. Just beware some hosts block outbound connections from their web servers, especially on port 25. It's worth a shot though.

You know what? I actually just spent the last 40 minutes changing my password, and it still won't work. I used the last two options on the instruction page you provided (thank you!) and the login page is still convinced the password in the phpMyadmin is not the right one. And it's convinced my admin name is not my admin name (even though it's the only login.)

I must have messed something up.
