   Hi,

   Just started a new site from scratch. Got WP installed ok, but whenever I create new pages/posts they are not being created and instead go to a 404 page. For example, go to http://www.digitalcuppa.com/ and then just click on About. This is a page WP created automatically, but it's dead.

   Does anyone know why this could be happening?

   The only thing I thought was unusual in the set up was that in Servage (web host) when I created the database this site is on, it did not ask me to set user privileges. Also, I am unable to set up privileges either on my Servage Dashboard, or in phpmyadmin (no selectable area whatsoever for privileges). Could this be the problem.

   Any help is much appreciated.

   try deleting the .htaccess in wordpress root and then regenerate your permalinks
   admin - settings - permalinks

   You sir, are awesome. That's sorted it right out. Thank you so so much. I realise it was probably simply to you but it was bugging the crap out of me (as someone who knows nothing about web publishing, yet).

   Off topic I know, but be very careful with Servage. They aren't known for their security... Keep very regular backups if you stay with them.
