   Having a bit of of a hard time getting my head around which template to modify - or indeed whether it should be a new page/template altogether!
   I'm looking create a new page design for several categories. A 'photos' category for example may point to a new page which has a scrolled list of thumbs.
   I can create new CSS pages for each category , but where should I integrate the new php page? A different wp-comments.php or something new?

   Sorry you didn't get an answer for your question. I'm not entirely sure what you'd want to do about your scrolled list of thumb(nails?), but this should help to explain *how* to do multiple templates:
