What exactly do you like on the old plugin?
The graphics (icons) are there, only the css is not.

From what I recall there used to be a light-blue box around the forecast. It looked really sharp. Now the icons are huge and the current settings affect all the widgets underneath it. I guess I could play around with the CSS but we really liked the old display with the border.

Will inactivate for now and get back to it when I have time. Thanks!

    hello

what sounds like a problem to me is “… the current settings affect all the widgets underneath”.
What do you mean by that? Send me a link if you can. The widget should not brake your/any website. If it does, then the widget scafold is wrong and I’ll fix it.. though I do not think it is the case, because I use it on live websites and have no problems what so ever.
My guess is that the widget penetrates your actual design, because you have not tuned up the CSS.

Speaking of the CSS issue. The easiest way is to copy the css from the original plugin icit-weather-widget.php located on the end of the file.

The CSS in the old plugin is not done properly. The proper way will be by wp_register_style function.

Frankly, I do not like to force any css anywhere. It never matches the website design. I think the plugin should give us the function in a raw format, and it is up to users to design it.
