   This past installation, I've had issues with plugins executing to install (updates) and not going further than saying...

   "Installing ..."

   Now, that I have an update for the latest version of WordPress, it is doing the same thing. When automatically installing it says,

   "Installing WordPress Version..."

   And does nothing.

   Any help would be appreciated!

   Try adding:

   AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

   followed by a blank line to the very top of the .htaccess file in your WordPress folder.

   That didn't work. It's still stuck on

   Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-2.9.zip

   I tried taking out the space between php5. php but it didn't work either.

   Are there any IT people that moderate this forum that would have any insight? I would really like to upgrade but have the inability to do so.
