• Hi
please let me inform urgently that my theme or current installation of word press is creating problems. but my site is running and there is content on it. If I want to install the latest version of word press again in the cpanel then I will install the plugins again. I just want to ask that is it a safe, by doing so should my previous data remain as it? please reply me as soon as possible because I am facing too much trouble in the running site.

First make a backup or two

The upgrade does not delete data

    Follow instructions at

If you are meticulous? at following steps do the manual upgrade; that works 99% of time ; auto upgrade has problems sometimes

I am not talking about just upgrade I am talking about full new installation of word press in cpanel. then want to shift the existing data again there.

“full new installation of word press in cpanel.”

Sounds like the cPanel admin will delete the old install to me..

    Be careful.

As long as its same version there should be no problem as all your posts pages and settings are in database make backup and keep a copy on your computer.

The folder you need to keep is wp-content as that is where your themes and plugins are saved and wp-config.php is where your database infrmation is.

Once uploaded just replace wp-content and wp-config.php
