   Hi,

   I've seen similar problems to mine but not identical, so I thought I'd throw this out there to see if anybody can help me.

   I'm moving my blog to a new host (same domain name and same folder on the domain, though). I uploaded WordPress 2.5, installed the database and can login to the Dashboard. However, when I point my browser to the blog's location, all I get is a blank page. I've rebooted the computer, cleared the cache and still get a blank page. I tried posting and it seems to go through.

   I'm really stumped as to what to try next. Last time I checked (about a week ago), the blog worked fine on the old host and there were no troubles with posting either.

   Can anybody suggest what could be the problem?

   blank pages are a good indicator of a php error.

   1. check any error_logs that you see. (use your ftp client, and look around inside public_html [or the server's equiv])

   2. make sure that ALL of the files are uploaded properly.

   3. disable all of the plugins, reload front page, see if it comes back.

   4. switch to the default theme, see if it comes back

   all hosts are not created equally, because something works fine on one host, doesn't mean on another it will.

   Whooami,

   Many thanks for your help!

   I did everything you said and the error_log was full of "page can't be found" statements. So I scrapped everything, deleted everything. Then I uploaded an earlier backup copy from the start of May, including the database from around the same time, and it all works now. Just goes to show that it's a good idea to keep the last 2 backupcopies of your blog (at least).
