   I've just installed the lasted version of wordpress 3.3.1 at this domain http://www.mrsbacktofront.com and when I logged into dashboard there is a message at the top saying -

   An automated WordPress update has failed to complete - please attempt the update again now.

   The site was previously running under 2.8.3 and was showing the same message. I copied the html for pages and posts and carried out a fresh install. I dropped the tables on the database, deleted all wordpress files and uploaded the new files. I uploaded the old folders for plugins. themes and uploads. The fresh install went as expected apart from this odd message.

   What wordpress update is it talking about?

   Does anyone have any ideas on this?

   O.K. I've managed to resolve this now, by deleting the maintenance file. Does WordPress recreate this file when needed?
