New Event Does Not Appear on Calendar

After upgrading to the latest version of the Events Manager plugin, the calendar on the calendar page does not show a new event added. This calendar is added to this page with the following code:
[events_calendar long_events=1 full=1]
September 2 should show display: “Office Closed – Labor Day” on this page:
http://riverbendbc.org/weeklyschedule (for the month of September). This event properly appears on the right-hand side under the heading Events, and it appears when you click on the All Events link:
http://riverbendbc.org/events-3 (Also, how do I get rid of that extraneous comma that appears under the event name in the Event column on this detail page?)

Back to the original problem, the Labor Day office closing on Sept. 2 does NOT appear on the larger calendar on this page for the month of September:

It also properly displays in the calendar in the right-hand side bar when you go to September on sub pages, such as this one:
http://riverbendbc.org/ministries/youth
