• Hi everyone. My site utilizes the Neuron theme which is graphically customized quite a bit. Now, I’m trying to add a new “panel” of information to the side bar that for the most part I understand how to do this via the customize.txt located in the /public_html/wp-content/themes/neuron directory.

What I don’t understand is how do I tell WP I have a whole new information panel to add? So, I searched WP for the same topic but come up empty. Can one of you knowledgable folks help me out???

Please keep in mind that I do not know how to program PHP however, I’m very versed with HTML and CSS.

Thank you for any help you can provide. 🙂

  • I haven’t looked at that theme’s code, but judging from your site, it uses some javascript to do the drop down boxes. You need to look at the sidebar.php file to create the new box. Best bet is to simply copy one of the existing boxes, and paste it, changing the info you want. It may take some trial and error, but that’s the process I would use.

Hey there.. thanks so much for your reply. However, I understand how to make the box, that’s not the issue. It’s adding the another entry into the database. For instance:

Currently, I have the following nav items:

Poll (which I’d like that roll up too but is static at the moment)
    Catagories
    Back Blogs
    Finest Freebies
    and Site Crap

All of which are being tracked by a database, right?

So now, to that nav list, I’d like to add a Blog Roll and other nav stuff. How do I create the new database in WordPress to track those new items?

Do you see what I mean?

I’m also trying to make this theme work better for me, how do I get rid of or at least tweak the font size of the screentips (tooltips) that I get when mousing over links? Do I have to fiddle the jscript file?
