neuro help please

my website is brand new ,http://www.thevoyagernetwork.org, i am having troubles all across the board

#1 I cant understand why I cant change the font of the header.
#2 I want a full width scrolling banner on top with a news feed left and under the banner and my menu’s on the right under the banner, one of the links in the scroll i would also like to be the link to my store
#3 I tried to make my front page static and a blog/media page. I got both pages and my home page set to static, yet my home page still has the “post comment” box and my blog page takes you to another page to make comments.

–im about to break my mouse–

-I have an idea for this site I really want to pursue, but without the funds to just have someone do it. I tell ya this is quite confusing.
