Networking 2 online shops on the same server

    Hi,

    I’d appreciate some help here in Networking an online shop on 2 sites, something I haven’t done before and not exactly sure if I can do what I want.

    What I’m looking at is 2 sites on the same server, both on their own domains on this server with both sites running the same parent theme but different settings of the theme, basically like 2 buildings of the same design but decorated differently with each site having an online shop, (WP e-Commerce), and selling the same products in each shop.

    Is there any way that I can do this so that I don’t have to upload the products to both sites, i.e. with the shops networked so that when I upload to one shop the products I upload goes on sale in both online shops.

    Any help and advice on doing this will be appreciated thanks.

    That would be tricky. You’d need to work directly with the ecommerce plugins for that one and I suspect it’d be a custom job.

    You CAN cross post between sites on MultiSite with a plugin, I just don’t know how you’d integrate that.

    Broadcast a post/page to other blogs. Whitelist, blacklist, groups and automatic category+tag posting/creation available.

    Definitely tricky, but possible, and as Ipstenu mentioned, a custom job.

    Because WPEC uses custom post types and taxonomies, you could leverage all of the existing APIs in WordPress and multi-site with domain mapping and make this happen.

    If you definitely want to see this happen, I’d consult with a WPEC consultant.
