Support » Networking WordPress » Network install with 1 site as a repository

  • I want to install a WP network where a set of sites to serve as a repository of products to other sites within the network. A product that receives a basic set of metadata (eg: a brown horse, black mane and 1.80 high (sorry, must be discreet with the actual subject), these will be completed at the site of wpadmin dbprefix wp_1.

in other sites (eg with so wp_2 db prefix) in the network, this data to the frontend to be unreachable, but also to the backend. The backend should be for that site specific information can be linked, so if that site is specifically about brown horses, the metadata as the emphasis should be placed on. Result is that the potential for each site specific information about using the product, or just the standard set of metadata. It should also be indicated for each site, which products must be shown.

Are there any plugins that facilitate something like? Does anyone have tips or insights on whether or not using such an approach? Safety is an important asset in the project!

toughest issue remains, I think not only the display lights up the front end side, but to edit the backend side (and then also per site).

I am also thinking about a trick with child themes and plug a customized domain so I have a blog, not even a network install, which is to collect as several sites using domain names.

If anyone have any ideas / suggestions are very welcome!
