   I am trying to create a blog for multi-users. I am not sure if wordpress is even the software I should be using.

   My site so far is here: thedramavant.com

   There are many issue I want to know if they can be fixed or if I just need to buy or use a different blog software.

   These issues are, when registering, it navigates to wordpress and automatically generates a password for you.

   I don't like how when you log in, it takes you to the dashboard to post, not still on my main page.

   I don't like how I have different categories but I can't get them to show up on the sidebar no matter what I try.

   PLEASE HELP or send me to someone that can!

   you can use a plugin to redirect them wherever you want
   http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-my-login/

   I don't like how I have different categories but I can't get them to show up on the sidebar no matter what I try.

   go to
   admin - appearance - widgets
   add the category widget to sidebar

   Thanks samboll. I really appreciate that plug-in you sent me, it helped alot. I also got the categories working as well.

   My next question is: Is there any plugin that would make it so when someone wants to post, it would like my current theme?

   A plugin that acts like the one you listed above? Or if there was any way I could modify that plugin so it resembles a "forum" style text box still in my current theme to allow users to post easily.
