Need Traffic Plugin Like I Had in My Free Blog? (8 posts)

It was simple, and I liked it, but now that I switched to my own domain I can't find a plugin like it.

I don't need anything complex -- just the number of visitors per day, search engine terms being used, and some idea where my traffic is coming from (search engine, feed, other).

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. This plug-in looks okay and is probably easiest to install:

    http://www.duechiacchiere.it/wp-slimstat/

Personally I like to just use Slimstat from http://wettone.com/code/slimstat and just put into wp-config.php the following line after the WPLANG line

    @include_once( "/your/path/here/slimstat/inc.stats.php" );

Which is probably not exactly correct but gives me numbers without logging into WordPress.

Okay, got it uploaded to my wp-plugins folder, but it's not showing up on my web page plugins. Suggestions?

Log out and log back in just to check. Also make sure the file(s) are readable by the webserver.

  6. Did you extract the wp-slimstat.zip file into plugins? You should now have a wp-contents/plugins/wp-slimstat folder. Inside that folder you should see

    countrysync.sql
    lang
    LICENSE.txt
    README.txt
    wp-slimstat.csv
    wp-slimstat.php
    wp-slimstat.png

After that your plugin should show up in the list of plugins as WP-SlimStat, and then just activate it.

Jdembowski, it's all there in my plugins folder, and I logged in an out, but it's still not showing up on my list of plugins. I suppose I could try reloading?

  8. Sounds like what drmike suggested. The files might not be readable by the webserver.

Check the directory wp-slimstat/ and make sure the ownership and permissions match the plugins you already have running. Then go into the wp-slimstat/ directory and do the same for those files as well.

    Good luck.
