Need to upload multiple images in one post separately, not use “gallery”

I want to upload multiple images into a post, but I don’t want them to be viewed in the “gallery” format. I need to be able to separate them and write about each picture, then “return” and insert the next image and write about it.

I want them to look like they do here,

I have searched everywhere to get this answer, but maybe it is a plugin? Also, my WordPress blog is hosted with Media Temple, so I am not sure about any changes made to the template, etc.
