Need to Move WP Site to New System, Where is the Database Saved? (4 posts)

    Windows Server 2008 R2. IIS 7.0. WordPress 3.4.1. MySQL 5.1.

In general when I move my WP web site from one IIS server to another, what files need to be moved? Is it just the directory in which WP resides?

Whre is the MySQL database for my site stored, and how can I ensure that it moves with the site so that everything continues to run the same on the new system as on the old?

    Thanks for the help.

It's not that hard. I just move the wp-content directory along with my database and all is gravy. Find link below.

Just remember after the WP move, to flush the DNS so you wont have uploading problems in the Media Library.

You can find your database using phpMyAdmin...the following is a link on how to backup your database.
