need to clean database of junk left by 2.0.40

I had been running the earlier version of this plugin on my site which also has a search function on the home page (Quick Home Finder). All was fine until I upgraded Nextgen to 2.0.40. Not only did the gallery pop ups stop working but my search functionality slowed to a crawl. That upgrade (according to my host) “left millions of rows of junk in the wp_options table”. I reverted the plugin back to 2.0 and it solved the gallery problem but the search is still slow. Is there any way to delete all the junk from my database? http://burnstead.com/ Thanks!
