I have been receiving comments on my blog from one person who leaves insulting and offending comments. They are not from spammers as I know the guy.

His IP never changes as he has broadband.

I want to ban his IP.

How come Word Press does not come with a default IP address blocker installed?

Options -> Discussion. The big text field with "When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URI, e-mail, or IP, hold it in the moderation queue: (Separate multiple words with new lines.)" right above it.

Try putting his name, e-mail or IP into that field.

Or install Spam Karma2, mark one of his comments as spammed and he'll be black-listed from it.

Or search here (or elsewhere on the web) for quick tips on blocking IPs with .htaccess (that's not really a WP question though).

Hopefully one of those approaches would help?
