• Hi, I’m currently working on a wordpress 2.7 installation and developing a whole new theme for it. I exported all of the post data from the old blog (several thousand posts) and imported into my new installation. My problem is that the old theme on the old blog never used custom fields. The new theme requires that each post have a custom field and value specified. Without having to manually go back and add that to every single old post, how can I assign custom field with a value to all of the previous posts?

Specifically, I’m using DarrenHoyts TimThumb script to display thumbnails for all of the posts. Which requires me to use a custom field and copy and paste the image URL in as a value.

Does anyone know how I can mass assign custom fields? I have access to phpMyAdmin but I’m not familiar enough to know the exact query to run..
