  • Why would you want a Multisite install? Why not just install another copy of WordPress under the new domain name?

    Why? Because I don’t know what I’m doing. 😛

So I can just go through the same one-click routine with my host for a second WordPress site?

Yes but you will need to be careful where you install the second copy of WordPress on your hosting account. Does the new domain name already have its own folder?

    In WordPress or Dreamhost?

Can you write out the steps I’d need to execute in order to accomplish what I’m going for? I’d really appreciate it.

    In Dreamhost.

Sorry for my unfamiliarity… What area of Dreamhost’s site am I looking for a new directory for my second site?

FYI I already registered my second domain on Dreamhost, but did nothing further.

You need to add that domain to your hosting account if you already done that then just install wordpress on your new domain folder on your hosting account.

Create an addon domain for your second site and install WordPress to the directory folder which is created when you create an addon domain

If you want to install WordPress in a sub domain or sub directory, create that directory first under Domains in cPanel and install WordPress there using fantastico deluxe or simple scripts

If your web host doesn’t offer any of these 2 installation scripts, install WordPress manually

Doh! It was easier than I was making it out to be, although Dreamhost’s one-click-install interface wasn’t really intuitive. I had the domain already setup. I just needed to install WordPress to that domain.

    Thanks for your help guys!
