    I have been using rapidweaver - http://www.rickonline.us

and I just installed wordpress on my godaddy server - http://www.rickonline.us/wordpress

Can you please look at it, and give me some advice.

Does anyone on here use rapidweaver? My friend said I should make my entire site with wordpress instead of rapidweaver. Can I make a site like mine with wordpress? Should I use wordpress for the blog portion of my rapid weaver site?

Can you guys give me some advice?
    thanks

I had never heard of Rapidweaver, but it looks to me that what you made with Rapidweaver, you can easily make with WP. You only have to find a theme (or make one) more like the Rapidweaver design (which I like better than your WP theme). I see some advantages of WP over Rapidweaver (judging your website of course), such as "pretty permalinks" and perhaps a little more flexiblity in the "sidebar".

If I were you, I'd just chose either software and make the entire website with it.

so I can make a website with all the pages that my site has? (photos, movies, etc?) How do I do that?

Also do you like the theme of my site, or do you suggest something else?

I have no such things on my site, but I can't imagine that there are plugins to do these things for you.

Btw, I keep getting an error popup when I visit your website.

Yep, whenever I try to visit a "page" (weblog/going to the website, photos, videos, etc.). Everything seems to function.

Anyway, this is of course "off-topic" but just so you know.

When loading the site, I get the error. I click "ok", the rest seems "ok". Same when I click "planted tank", or even "contact". Only the first time I visit these pages and not with single pages (one post).

You only have to find a theme (or make one) more like the Rapidweaver design (which I like better than your WP theme).

In your WP theme, you really have to look at the stylesheet, especially the margins, placement of the sidebar, etc., but the overall look of the main site is more of my taste in general.

That's refreshing to hear. I thought, because of the look of the WP theme, people would like the WP theme better. But you like the clean look of my main page? It doesn't look "to" plain to you?

Of course we're talking about matters of taste now, but no, neither design looks too plain for me (my own design is probably much more plain!). I like simple designs that immediately tell visitors were to look. Your WP theme has a great header and I like the fact that the posts are very much to the left of the screen. If you made the index section a little wider and pushed the sidebar to the right of the screen you'd come pretty close to my own page lay-out :-) With a less busy/colourfull sidebar, your WP theme could become even better than that other one (NOT because it's a WP theme, I don't like the standard blog-like WP themes much). On the other hand, the continuing line around your main site theme/template is done well.

But to come back to your initial question, yes I think you can make your whole website in WP (easily). Somewhere under "latest posts" in this forum somebody talks about a photo gallery plugin that may be of interest for you and I'm sure there'll be something of a video plugin that does the same.

(But don't just listen to me of course!)

wow - thanks for the nice feedback. I thought it looked to plain, and didn't have much creative to it...
