I have a WP blog up and running for nearly two months now and I'm thinking of security but need advice. I believe I have a strong password to protect my admin panel as well as setting it up under a "hidden" file. Are there any other simple tips to protect my site? I'm thinking of installing Better WP Security but after reading some stuff here on the forum, I'm nervous because it seems involved, especially if it crashes your site. I'm pretty much self taught here with not a lot of technical knowledge. Any advice?

Thanks. I believe I follow many of these practices (i.e. making sure everything is up to date), but I'm more of a writer, less of a technical powerhouse so I'd be afraid to move files around, etc. That's why I'm wondering if installing a plugin to help out might be a better idea.
