Hi guys, really want to use this plugin
I use alot of png's so I need to be able to optimise them
apparently im missing pngout and optipng. I tried to copy the file over like it says on the settings page
Copy binary from /usr/local/pem/vhosts/156042/webspace/siteapps/39534/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/ewww-image-optimizer/ to /usr/local/pem/vhosts/156042/webspace/siteapps/39534/htdocs/wp-content/ewww/
but it still says I don't have it. Am I doing something wrong here? Should I just download it from the sourceforge download and upload whatever comes in that download to the ewww folder?
-----------
Also, when I try to resize jpegs the plugin goes to work, but every JPeg comes back to say 'No-savings', despite the fact that pagespeed sites like gtmetrix.com say there is alot of lossless reduction possible on certain jpg images.
Any ideas on this?

It's likely that you need to make the file executable. If you're using shell access/command-line, you can run something like this:
chmod a+x /usr/local/pem/vhosts/156042/webspace/siteapps/39534/htdocs/wp-content/ewww/optipng
pngout is optional, but you can do the same thing for that if you upload it manually to the 'ewww' folder.
To troubleshoot the jpegtran stuff, we need two pieces of information to start:
1. Copy the plugin status section and paste it here
2. View the page source of the EWWW Image Optimizer Options page and look for the jpegtran path in the plugin status section (it's hidden from view otherwise). Paste the path here as well. If you still have trouble with optipng and/or pngout, do the same for those.

thanks nsilver4u,
wayyy too technical for me mate, cheers anyway. I'll figure something else out.
happy new year
The JPG issue might be a bug that I just fixed (releasing later tonight). For optipng, you just need to copy the file optipng between the two folders like it says. Alternatively, you can just make the wp-content folder writable, and the plugin will take care of it for you. Try 1.3.6 later, and if it still doesn't work, at least we tried...

I have the same problem to.
tokar86a, did you upgrade to 1.3.6? The problem with JPGs should be fixed in the latest release. And we don't know that the other issue was anything other than not knowing how to set permissions. So, to properly address your issues, please start a new thread, include any error message you are receiving, click the Debug link at the top of the EWWW Image Optimizer Settings page, and copy and paste then entire Plugin Status with the Debug info included in that new thread.
