  • I am trying to set up a marketplace page on my site. Basically a simple page for ads (linked images). I do not want a sidebar on this page, so I created a new page template that is very basic, based on the page.php file of my theme. I stripped away the tags for the content that I didn’t want on the page, saved the file and uploaded it to the directory where the theme I’m using is located. And it worked! So far so good. Shows up in the theme editor and everything looks good. I created a new wordpress page for the marketplace based on the template, the page looks fine, and the sidebar is gone.

When I went to add the image data to the wordpress page, however, I encountered a problem. While the sidebar is gone, the images will not extend past the post area, into the area where the sidebar is supposed to be.

I think this is probably a style sheet issue (correct me if I’m wrong) and is probably easy to sort. I’m thinking this should be a simple matter of adding the formatting I want for this page to the style sheet, and then a div in the new template that calls up that particular sytle for the page.

I’m not new to wordpress, but this is my first new template, and I need a little help with the code. I’m not sure where to begin. I think I know what I need to do to make this work, but I simply lack the coding skills to make this happen, and would really appreciate a little help.
