• Currently, I have independent subdomain job board sites and would like to create a network and have a single sign on. I am not very tech savvy, however, I can follow instructions very well. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Many thanks

If you are using subdomains rather than subdirectories, you will have “single sign-on” in the sense that each user will have the same username/password for all of the sites. However, you won’t have “single sign-on” in the sense that once a user logs into one of the sites they’ll automatically be logged into all of the sites.

Some additional tweaking is necessary to make that work. I haven’t yet found any tutorials explaining how to modify your cookie domain for WordPress Multisite (I’m sure there must be a way); which is what’s necessary to get the real “single sign-on” working properly. I’ve only found tutorials explaining how to do so for normal installs of WordPress, but those instructions don’t work for multisite.

Ignore what I said above. I was thinking about a slightly different setup. The single sign-on should work exactly the way you want when you set up MultiSite.
