i tried deleting the pages and recreating them but I’m having the same issue …
Did you create a home page using pages and a blank page named blog if so you need to go to settings reading and select static pages and select home page as front page and blog as post page.
I created a homepage template and set that as the homepage – and then set the postings page to the blog page
the blog page needs to be blank and then when you post any article it should come on that page.
the blog page is blank and selected as the post page
this is the strangest thing – I’ve done this on other sites but for this site, I cannot get the blog on the ‘blog’ page. Here’s what I’ve done:
1. Create a template for the homepage called ‘Home Page’
2. Created a page called ‘Home’ and used the template for that page only
3. Set the reading settings to ‘static page’ and selected home
4. Set the posts page to blog
still don’t know what I’m doing wrong
What is the file name for your home page template?
Try changing it to homepage.php. home.php is a reserved filename on some servers – which could be causing your problem.
That did it. That was frustrating.
Thanks for bailing me out again esmi!
No problem. Glad to hear that it’s sorted. 🙂
