I am new to wordpress and website building. I have learned a few tricks such as setting up a static page and I've been getting familiar with the program. My ultimate goal is to use wordpress to create a CMS to manage my business and also have a blog page. Where can I find in-dept, easy to follow instructions on how to use all of the features on wordpress? I'm also using hostgator for my hosting service.

The best place for WordPress information is the Codex http://codex.wordpress.org/

Also there are plenty of good CMS themes around that make it very easy to use WordPress as a CMS.

WordPress is a CMS. Choice of theme will not alter that. :)

Using the default 2011 theme, set a static page as your front page you have a non blog web site: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page

Make a page called 'blog' and set it a as the static 'posts' page and you have a site with a blog too.
