   Through 1and1's click-and-build auto installation feature, I made a wordpress site. Unfortunately I discovered that 1and1's application is read-only, and it makes things difficult for a newbie when it comes to being able to change file permissions for permalinks.

   I made a new database, and I am ready to manually install wordpress through a FTP program, and I am also ready to point my domain's destination to the new folder.

   Here are the questions: Am I able to transfer my old site to the manually installed version? How would I go about transferring that data? Just copy/paste the old folder's files? Will there be changes needed for key files?

   Thanks for the quick replies.

   Unfortunately I ran into more problems. I pasted the site and edited the config file to point to the new database. But it looks like none of the old information can be seen on the wordpress admin control panel. I also had to re-enter my wordpress site information after I pointed the domain

   On the FTP account, I can see the old images and the other old files that were used, but not on the wordpress dashboard.

   Any help would be greatly appreciated
