    Hello and happy solstice!

I have 3 columns on most of my blog. I have 1 page that has 1 column. I want to add another page with just one column so my calendar schedule will fit on it. Someone helped me set up the site and he did the 1 column, 3 column set up. I found the code for it on the Edit Themes page but I don't know what to do at this point.

My question: How do I add another 1 column page to my site?

    Thank you,
    Nancy

You will need to create a custom page template & start customising your theme's CSS - possibly via a child theme or a custom CSS plugin.

What theme are you using and where did you download it from?

There is already a custom page template created for the other single column page. I'm using Perfecty in wordpress 3.5. I don't remember where I downloaded it from.

I'm sorry but your chosen theme is not released under GPL. Non GPL products are not welcome in the WordPress community. Official WordPress policy states that all plugins and themes that are publicly released are required to adhere to http://wordpress.org/about/gpl/

Also, given this particular theme provider, I would strongly recommend that you read this article and consider changing to a theme from a reputable source asap.

Wow, I had no idea. I thought I was doing everything properly when setting up this site. I'm sorry.

It's not your fault. You've just happen to have chosen a theme from an extremely dubious theme provider. :-( It is one of a number of "theme providers" who make copies of good, GPL themes, embed spam links & other dubious content into them and re-offer them for download.

I have spent so much time and money creating this site. I'm broke now, can't hire anyone else. My site still isn't live because it's not finished(I just put it live to get help from the support forum). I can't start over at this point or I'll quit entirely. Can you recommend a theme that is similar to the one I have?

It looks like a fun theme. It appeals to the artist in me. It might be too fun for a professional site. My focus is helping women with depression.

I have no idea how to customize it with all the things my current site has. It would be like starting over. It says I can add my own custom header but I don't even see a header on this theme or where I could add it.

It took me months to fumble my way around the other theme and make simple changes, like the header and the colors. I'm not a coder. I eventually hired someone to do it and he bailed before he finished it.

http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/suffusion is a highly customisable theme with really good support.

That's nice and clean and simple. Would I be able to try these out without losing what I have on my site now?

I have an art site that is currently built in textpattern. I want to change it to something I can work with more easily and put a blog on the front page. Do you know of any themes that would look similar to what I have? http://nancymurdoch.com

    Thank you,
    Nancy
