   Hi all,

   First let me show you what I am trying to achieve. On the Mimbo Pro demo category pages are showing newest post as featured, then a few recent posts then a list of older posts. See here: http://demo.prothemedesign.com/wordpress/mimbo-pro/category/politics/

   But I have searched high and low on google trying to learn how to do this but as of yet I have failed miserably. Can anyone point me to somewhere that shows this or is able to give me a few pointers?

   anything would be greatly appreciated.

   You would need three loops to do that. Here's one example:

   You can also look at the older free Mimbo theme's index.php to get ideas.

   You can also copy the index and name it a category-#.php

   So if you have a category id 1 you would copy index.php and name it category-1.php

   Then in the new category-1.php change the PHP references to cat= and you will have posts only from the category display.
