Need a sidebar linkdump category

I am in the process of migrating my blog from Pivot to WordPress and I’m trying to figure out how to achieve similar functionality to what I currently have. On my blog http://www.modsuperstar.ca/ you’ll notice I have a list of “fresh links” in the sidebar. In Pivot this was called a linkdump, and was pretty much a right out of the box feature it had. How that currently works is having a second blog(all handled within the same site/admin area) that only publishes a category called fresh links. Is there something for handling this in a similar fashion on WordPress? I tried searching but I’m not sure I would have been using the right terminology to find what I want. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
