  • I need a backup solution

What I need is something I can use to restore quickly if an upgrade fails

I have my own server which is backed up. If I screw things up, my hosting company can always roll back – but this takes an hour or 2

So… do I only need a database backup solution?

I don’t want to use something that backsup to dropbox – I’ve got one too many domains I manage

    Looking for recommendations

    Thanks

    Omar

  • Your best solution to this is a good web hosting plan that has both automatic and manual backup ‘one click’ options. Always do the manual backup when making site changes or know the automatic one was done since last changes.

That said, it will always take time to put a backup in place. I suggest using a dev. domain or sub-domain for site work or a localhost setup such as WAMP for that work, then after testing move to live site.

When performing required updates, etc., to a live site, always do so at off peak hours if possible.
