    I'm in the process of creating this design...
    http://vega.soi.city.ac.uk/~abbx186/layout.html
    ... with CSS

    This is where I am so far:
    http://www.ineedpractice.com/

    Two things are causing me problems:
    1. How to line up the links (Home, Speak, Listen, etc) to their background tabs. And line up the tabs to the left edge of the white block.
    2. How to create the green title bar in the 'Site News & Announcements Box'.

    The links are in a div called linksbar, here's the CSS, in case it helps:

    #linksbar a
    {
    width:114px;
    color:#000000;
    text-decoration:none;
    background:url("tabs.png") no-repeat;
    float: left;
    padding: 0px 10px 10px;
    margin:0 -10px;
    font-size: 13px;
    font-weight: bold;
    text-align:center;
    }

    I have a personal policy of never using any horizontal menu coding except that supplied at listamatic. Those guys know what they are doing. :)

    Ok, as I've now got to this stage using it, is there anything I can do?!
    The 'tabs' idea is a common one, there must be a way of making it work and line up.

    Set text-align to left, margin to 0, and then start playing with the padding.

    I never *play* with anything in H lists. There is not a chance in hell my hackery would run consistently across platform.
