   I have a plugin with a player+playlist but in addition to that I need a separate plugin that will display a tiny 'play button' graphic that, when clicked, it will play a sound byte.

   A good example would be the soundmanager2 plugin: http://www.schillmania.com/projects/soundmanager2/

   Problem with this is that you have to create IDs for each sound in the header and there will be hundreds of these all over the place so I don't like that. I need a plugin that uses [shortcodes] that can easily let me manage the multiple instances of each clip and allow me to place them in posts.

   i have seen audio player but i don't need the slide out effect to display track information, time, or status bar. these will be very short clips and i just need the play button to be a small footprint.
