Navigation link, but with no page (6 posts)

I have successfully set up a custom menu and added a replacement link for a page so that it is available on the top-level navigation menu. I have then placed child pages under this link so that I have a placeholder for the child pages. As so:

    About Us
    Profile
    Qualifications
    Testimonials

    There are several issues regarding:

    1. Will this correctly work with search engines?

    2. Sitemap shows all pages, including blank one

    3. What is the best way to achieve a navigation link to child pages without having a blank main page, as in “About Us” page and keeping search engines happy.

Here is a link to an article that may help:

Thank you to both: vtxyzzy and David

This does work, but still leaves the problem of the original blank page "About Us" that appears in the sitemap. I can see only one way to avoid this, but I'm not sure how this affects seo and search engines!

If I were to remove the blank page, the sitemap wouldn't be correct.

    SOLUTION:
Disable that particular link in the sitemap (not sure how?) so as to preserve navigation hierarchy/structure.

Just fill in some content for the About page, possibly with links to the other pages.

    Yes vtxzzy

That would have been the option if I wanted a page that was available and with content. As it is I do not.

    thanks
