Hi, Im currently having issues trying to create a menu. Im trying to get the menu to display parents only until you click one and then it will display the children. Ive got this far with the Flexi Pages Widget but it wont allow me to customize the style of the child links.. they just adopt the same style as parents.

This is a screenshot of what I am trying to achieve: screenshot here

Can anyone help me or point me into the right direction?

The plugin doesn't disallow any customization. Styling is something that differs from theme to theme, so it's not dealt with in the plugin. It's just that.

So, you can put something like the following code in the style.css file of your theme to customize the looks of parent pages and child pages.

    .flexipages_widget li { font-weight:bold; } // parent pages
    .flexipages_widget li li { font-style:italic; } // child pages

The above code will display the parent page names bold and child pages italized. You can of course, define any styling as you like.

so those are the correct css classes to use? because firebug is telling me that at the moment the li classes are: .page_item and .page_item page-item-2

I have a similar question: is there a way of changing the colour of the nav bar? I can get the font to go bold using the instructions above; I'm wondering whether there is a way of getting it to change colour as well? Any help gratefully received.
