Support » Theme: Responsive » Nav menu display on phones is NOT good

  • Nice theme on computers and ipads but the menu on iphone looks TERRIBLE! You have to click on an icon over on the right of the nav bar to open up the menu.

If you want to see what I mean, open the theme demo page on your phone at http://themeid.com/demo/responsive/

Also the sidebar widgets are displayed underneath the main content instead of to the right or left.

If you need a theme that looks good on a phone then go for a different them or investigate this fully before you go to the trouble of installing and customising!

The menu has been fixed in version 1.9.3.1 that has been released today. You can click anywhere on the mobile menu.

The reason the sidebar widgets are moved under the content because a phone has a smaller width and it would look really quashed if the content and sidebar were next to each other.

You can see her for your self.

Linguine999 – This theme IS very good. You just need to learn a bit more about CSS to manipulate the theme to do what you want, that’s all. Ulrich’s reasoning is quite sound.

Also the sidebar widgets are displayed underneath the main content instead of to the right or left.

FWIW, that’s how 99.9% of themes and sites are designed to work on smaller devices. Try testing a few others.

And if you want sidebars on the side, just use one of the other templates and just insert your content into the home page yourself. There are so many layouts to choose from… it’s brilliant!

The mobile menu and grid handling is excellent on this theme. I swapped from the bones framework to child themes for responsive for these features!
