Native Dashboard and WPML (5 posts)

    Hi,
The plugin is great, by the way, I have been searching for exactly this application.
My problem is that the language switch does not work on my site with WPML installed. When I try to switch language it goes back to English.

I worked out that it was WPML (specifically WPML Multilingual CMS) by deactivating plugins until Native Dashboard started working.

If you have any way to resolve this conflict that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Laurie

I have also been in touch with WPML about this issue.

    They gave me this link:
    http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/

and said that if you like they will work with you (codestyling, the original plugin author) to help make the plugin WPML compatible (including a free WPML account).

So have a look if you are interested.

I'm using WPML as well and would love for this plugin to work with it. Any update on this?

    Hi yoyoma,

No luck so far, but I am working on alternatives (amongst other things).
For a work around I will set up each user in their own language...

But I am aiming to have a drop-down selector on the admin dashboard.

When (if) I get a solution I will post it here to help you and others.

I am still amazed that they don't already include it!!

    Hi ronindog5,

I think I've almost got this figured out. Switching the dashboard language apparently is part of WPML's functionality, but their documentation is not too great on this, and I'm not there yet. I think you'll first need to download their WPML String Translation plugin, then these two articles might give the remaining steps:
