MySQL5 and sql_mode

    Alot of people are having problems with posts not saving, and not even being able to install because they haven’t relaxed sql_mode.

    After a quick fish around I think what I outline here:

    is an OK solution for those people who cannot just blank out their sql_mode setting in a global way.

    Does anyone agree and should this perhaps be made more prominent some how?

    Also, is there any move to honour the NOT NULLs in the initial CREATE TABLEs in the rest of the code base?
