   Hello everyone,

   This is probably a dumb question but does WordPress run on MySQL 5.1.53? This is the latest version (I believe). I wanted to make sure before I go ahead and tell my clients IT guy to install it on their server.

   Any info is appreciated. Thank you!

   To run WordPress your host just needs a couple of things:

   * PHP version 4.3 or greater
   * MySQL version 4.1.2 or greater

   Yours is greater than 4.1.2, hence should be OK.

   The new requirements are:

   For MySQl:

   To run WordPress your host just needs a couple of things:

   PHP version 5.2.4 or greater
   MySQL version 5.0 or greater

   So yes, WordPress 3.2.1 is fine with MySQL 5.1. Be sure to verify your php version as well.

   We can confirm that after upgrading our VPS to MySQL 5.1 all our WP 3.2.1 sites are working fine. Thank you!!
