• Hello,
I woke up this morning, went to my wordpress webpage and it was redirected to a Russian website. After some frantic moments, I was able to figure out that someone re-wrote the index.php to redirect to a Russsian website. How can I prevent this from happening again? Help!

  • As far as I’m aware, the index.php is only meant to have read access for external users and everything else locked out.

So if you go to your FTP program, go to the file you’ve uploaded and (depending on your FTP software) there will be something called CHMOD. If you go into that and you can sort out the permissions.

I’m sure someone can elaborate more.
