   Hey folks

   In repeated efforts to get the cpu usage down I was making some changes to my wordpress site, and now it's gone haywire.

   here's a sample
   skolaiimages.com/check-back-later.htmlalaska-northern-lights-photo-tour/

   I tried to redirect everything in the 'journal' folder to a check back later page, but I didn't do the redirect correctly, it only directs the home page. skolaiimages.com/journal/

   I can't do anything in the admin section either it gives me all the same errors.

   Any assistance asap would be most appreciated.

   Use an ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to undo the redirect error in the .htaccess file?

   Hey Clayton

   Thanks .. no, the problem wasn't the htaccess file .. I misused the term redirect ..I had gone thru 'settings' / General and changed the siteurl and wordpress url .. and it somehow ended up in some loop that wouldn't work. So I went to phpMyAdmin (a place too dark and scary to venture) and changed the setting there, under options.

   So now it's working .. mostly .. all except I had to switch to a twenty eleven them, because the theme I had been using, 'default' ( I think it's no longer made) wouldn't display the home posts page correctly. I might need to start a new thread on that, perhaps. The whole thing is unrelated, but the solution to that might be very different to this topic.
