   My webpage was set up by my ex gf - I had to transfer it into my name.

   I registered it in my name a godaddy
   I have hosting at Vividhosting
   I imported all of the files into the public_html directory
   I setup the wp-config.php file to have my user name, password, data base, etc.

   I go to my temporary website (it has not Propagated yet) and I see a new wordpress blog page, not my old one.

   Where did my old one go to? Did I miss a step while importing all of my files?

   Is there like an execute step or something?

   You need the information from the Database, The wordpress files are simply the application and the uploads, all the posts and settings are stored in the database.

   You've got 2 options:
   1. Switch back to the old database, and do a wordpress export
   2. Login to the old database via PHPMyAdmin(or any other provider provided database backup functionality) and export the databbase. You should then be able to import it into your new blog.
