My very own Color Palette for TinyMCE? (6 posts)

    Hi,

This is driving me nuts. I want to add a few extra color swatches in the TinyMCE text styling color palette.

Sounds simple, but I've searched all over the place and found nothing. There appears to be no plugins available to do this. I looked at editing the TinyMCE files direct but I'm not a programmer - I located the reference to 'theme_advanced_text_colors' but then found if I even manage to edit the entry it'll get wiped with the next WP upgrade.

If anybody could point me in the right direction I'd very much appreciate it.

TBH I'm amazed there isn't more on this subject. I would have thought more people would want to control what colours a site editor gets access to, in order to maintain consistent styling and branding throughout the site. I know you can set 99% through CSS but this would be the simplest answer for my non-tech clients to handle (they know no coding and haven't a clue what a hex color is).

    Many thanks,
    Nick.

Hey guys, I just found a solution to this and I thought I'd share it. Took me quite a bit of Googling and frustration but I've managed to replace the entire visual editor's colour palette with my own colours. You can read the full guide on how to do it on my site:
