• I’m using the free “Wire News” theme for a community website for a “surau” in Malaysia, which is a congregation of Muslims in the residential neighbourhood. It’s in the Malay language but you can translate using the button on the top left corner. Here is the website :

    Surau As-Salam

Doing this is just a hobby and whatever little I know about using WordPress themes and plugins is purely from trial and error, not by any dedicated study or courses. Please criticize this website, slap me around if you like…I want to improve. Thanks.

  • Facebook faces is a great feature.
but the actual embed of fb’s wall in the middle of a site and with a huge toolbar may look confusing – at least.
The sidebar may also look a bit confusing with its empty gap in the middle. I wonder you have tried to swap them around?
If the projects grows larger you may also consider adding subcategories for the news.
    Cheers.

Thanks for your comments. Agreed about the FB wall. Anyway being a community website the majority of them wanted it to be there.

Is there really an empty gap in the sidebar? I’m using Google Chrome and Rockmelt mostly and everything’s fine. I got to check browser compatibility. What browser are you using?

I meant an empty space that gets prominent as you scrolldown.

Oh, OK, understood. The second sidebar from the right. Yes, I do intend to fill it up progressively with suitable material.

    Thanks.

That green bar on top, I think the fonts are too small. The old folks in the community may have to put on reading glasses to see clearly.

Hahaha. Yes you got a point there. Got to make it 1px bigger. Thanks.
